Finally decided to make a trip to Kunming.
It's cool throughout the year according to very good old friend and Kunming resident, Huei Lock, hence its tag "City of Eternal Spring". Due to its altitude of 1000 plus feet above sea level.
Kunming is in the province of Yunnan which is in the south-western part of China.
Acompanied by Siew May, he picked us up from Kunming airport and soon we were walking along NeanChing Lu where his apartment was located.
Broad sidewalks with TWO additional rows of trees! The City wants to be greener than Singapore, it seems, and started additional tree planting about two months ago.
It was cooler than Singapore, with day temp around 20C, which made for comfortable walking, though no blue sky.
The wide streets had bicycle lanes as this was a popular mode of transportation.
