Keeping at it

Here's a climber giving another (probably) report via handphone to the rest of his kakis who were probably soaking comfortably in an onsen.

Another one with hankie for his (or her) running nose. Like many of us. Off and on during the climb.

This is what the top of one of the slope stabilising "walls" look like.

And I'm here very glad for another break some 30 minutes since the last one at the first hut above the Sixth Station.

The photos show sunny and calm conditions but it wasn't like that all the time. These were sunny rainless and sometime windless breaks.
At other times, and we found more of those times as we climb, it was gusty with very very strong winds, enough to make you lean into it, with thick mist and/or clouds right just below
the edge of the path we were on, and stinging pelting sprays of rain. Hence we had our hoods on most of the time.

The raindrops hit you so hard you hear them hitting your hood really loud, as if someone was throwing peas at you! No kidding.

Some 20 minutes later we were being overtaken by this tour group of climbers which was marshalled by at least two guides.

Just look at how slowly they all climb! Click each photo and see the details.
