Day 8/8 - Hobart Sunday

We drove around exploring the city of Hobart which was a nice little town with lots of old buildings which gave it good character and identity. But younger folk will definitely not appreciate Hobart as it is like something from the Past.

Anyhow, Salamanca Market was deserted as it was Sunday, but we still had an enjoyable time visiting those places that were open on Sundays, most of which were eateries, cafes and souvenier shops besides the Art Theatre and its shops, all of which were very well designed and interesting. The Salamanca Market area is next to the water's edge where you'll find yachts and naval vessels berthed alongside.

Aussie arts and crafts are very creative and I think we spent most of our time checking out A&C shops after viewing vistas. Such a simple idea - this school of fish.

I like those streetname signs that tell you a little more than the street name. Click on it to blow it up and see the details (don't forget to ArrowBack to this page).

Some good country-style touches and stuff, above.

Lovely paintings by Aussie artist Gaye Nichols. The purple colour of those lavenders is prettier than those at our place in WA.
