Starting out to the day's first destination, we had to "catch up" on Jigokudani (Hell's Valley), a crater of bubbling boiling sulphurous water. The pungent smell of sulphur, the sight of the yellow coloured stuff on the rocks, steam emitting from the ground crevices. Quite a sight.
If you look closer, you can see a coin or two dropped by tourists on the surface of the bubbling mud.
Walked down to the end of that upward pointing red line in the map (left) and had enough.
