This station is like a town centre shopping village, with all the big name departmental stores in buildings like Odakyu (its building in photo left)atop the station (which is underground) or in annexed buildings, or in separate buildings along the narrow streets around the station.
There are supermarkets, food courts and restaurants big and small in the big name stores; but on the street level there are mostly little restaurants, the bigger ones are on the upper floors.
There are two Yodobashi Camera I think because we asked for something and a staff member took us out of the shop and walked around a block or two and into another look-alike store to get that item. Fantastic service! he didn't just give us instructions on how to get to that other store, he fetched us there!
This is one of the typical shopping streets around the Shinjuku Station.
