Lake Hill Farm and Silo Observatory

On to the next spot in our Tour Manual which was the Silo Observatory 12 km away for which 20 minutes driving was estimated ie a dreadfully slow speed of 36 kmh!

However, we did take 20 minutes because we passed the spot! and had to stop and check the GPS and then backtrack. Reason? it was just an old barn in a large field, that's all!
And of course, the usual souvenier stalls and farm products sales within. So no photos were taken.

I must say though that sales at shops, stalls, markets etc in Hokkaido are much more pleasant than in Tokyo (and of course the rest of the world!) in terms of friendliness and absence of sales pushiness.

We passed this road works which was first class. The white flag waving is often carried out by a wooden cutout of a worker equipped with a mechanical arm.

Lake Hill Farm was 2 km down the road which should be easily reachable before the rain came down, as the sky was dark with storm clouds.

Fortunately for us the rain held off during our visit. But it was still dark and these photos have been brightened up. The front garden (above).

The cafe (above), not what we wanted, so headed for its annex the Ice Cream shop which was renowned for its smoooth and creeeamy many flavoured product. Queue up to pay in advance for a service queue number, choose only 2 flavours, a scoop each; Wow! It was creeeamy, that's all. I had vanilla and sesame flavours; very good.

The huge rabbit enclosure was a popular item especially with the kids as you enjoy your ice cream.

Here's what it looked like, the weather, I mean.

Some cityfolk tourists were quite taken up with the hay rolls. Only three rolls left in the field.

Ah, here's my Prius 161.

And so we take leave of Lake Hill Farm and its ice cream at about 4.30pm for a short 12 km to our hotel. Estimated travel time : 30 minutes! Yep, no speeding on Japanese roads.

Truthfully, I was getting used to the low speed limits. It's so much safer and stress-free. Unlike in Perth, WA.

Very detailed although I notice the words and getting progressively less with each turn of the page!

Perhaps you ought to get Prime tours to link your blog to their website as a testimonial of their excellent packages and service. Would do wonders for their business if it's not good enough already.
