The highway rest stop establishments are excellent, very well maintained, and in very clean condition. Here we are at one enroute to Shanghai. There was a Chinese fast-food diner on the ground floor where one purchases 'set meals' or 'set' dishes of each item such as vegetables, pork, mutton, etc to go with a bowl or two of rice.
On the upper floor, there was a HUGE restaurant. It was very well finished and seemed just like any big restaurant in the City.
That's bro-in-law Kai with the reading glasses. The other guy is our minibus driver assisting in ordering more dishes for our lunch. The waitress ticks off our selections in her PDA.
Something interesting here - an auction of paint reproductions carried on during lunch. They went pretty cheap; so we bought a large one.
