Gurney Drive

Crossed the road to walk the seafront esplanade towards the Hawker Centre. Spotted the quaint motorbike stand and locks (which no one used, the locks ie).

The guide paving for the blind ramped down the kerb height walkway onto road before extending beside the zebra to cross the road. Very thoughtful.

Noticed that there were uncivil and inconsiderate motorbike owners in Penang as elsewhere. They park their bike in front of the bench beside the one they seat themselves.

There's a fisherbird in the centre photo above. Click to enlarge photo to see it easier. That tall apartment block is wafer thin, isn't it?

Another millionaire's hacienda. Like most, their access has been relocated to their rear. If you click on the photo above right, you can see a red coloured sign atop the building just left of the centre lamp pole - that's the Gurney Resort Hotel neon sign.

Couldn't help wondering about the different coloured tickets stuck under the windscreen wipers of cars in the roadside parking lots. There were pink and yellow tickets. Asked a parking attendant, and he explained that you just park in a lot and he'll come along and stick on a coloured ticket or Notice (can't recall which colour). You have to bring this ticket to him (he is somewhere along the the road) and pay the amount required and he'll issue you a ticket (or Receipt) of another colour. Leave it on and he'll check if you exceed the time paid for and the performance repeats.
