Nakamise-Dori

Nakamise-Dori is a narrow street leading to the Sensoji Temple. No motorised traffic. The transparent overhead blinds are retracted in fine weather. The street is endless! Wives have been reported missing from tour groups.

Shop baker producing red bean-filled cookies of various shapes including those of the main temple and the pagoda. He is very well provided, can you see the first aid bandaids?
Click on photo to enlarge and you'll see it near his thigh.

Cookies are packed better than a Christmas present.

I have yet to discover how this children's activity is carried out. There are many variations with live goldfish or live tropical fish or other floating toys. Spoons or ladles or scoopnets are used. You graduate from damaged devices to proper ones. Some tanks are equipped with little motor pumps to create a current.
